Whale Watching for the Food Bank
WHALE WATCHING FUND RAISER FOR THE FOOD BANK
The John Ozzello Memorial Food Bank is doing a major fund raiser this year to prepare for the low season. For only $600 peso, you can enjoy an entire day of Whale Watching as well as helping to support the local food bank. The boat we have chartered for this is the Kontiki SHAMBALLA which is a double decker catamaran. Only 99 tickets will be sold for this event so get yours soon before they sell out!
The boat will be leaving the Paradise Village Marina in Nuevo Vallarta at 9:00am and will be returning at around 4:00pm on SATURDAY MARCH THE 10TH. (We do suggest you arrive at 8:30am).
Included in this fund raiser is: Whale Watching, Snorkeling at the Marietas Island, continental breakfast, open bar, and lunch. Breakfast consists of fruit, sweet bread, coffee and juice. Lunch consists of Chicken and Beef Fajitas, salad, and cream of spaghetti soup.
Not only will you have an enjoyable and memorable experience, you will also be helping to feed the needy in Bucerias. It's a win, win situation!

Santa may have had a busy night, BUT if he missed YOUR stocking, there's time to get your 2012 Amigos Waiters Calendar, available at many Bucerias, La Cruz, and Nuevo Vallarta restaurants in the Bahia. Surely you don't want to miss any of the many fiestas and commemorations taking place in this wonderful country! The calendar is a great way to keep up with what's happening--AND you'll even find US and Canadian holidays, as well as a few you may not have known about. Amigos de Bucerias, A.C., is a Mexican-registered civil association, composed of energetic residents of Bucerias, Nayarit, Mexico, uniting to make Bucerias a good place to visit, work and live.
Our mission:
"The civil association Amigos de Bucerias AC is dedicated to the protection and enhancement of the quality of life in Bucerias, in cooperation with all residents, elected and appointed officials, business leaders and visitors."
Amigos members
- Conduct an ongoing food drive in partnership with a local church for local residents who need assistance
- Assist local residents in pressing situations through a "special needs fund"
- Assist local police and fire officials through equipment purchases and educational opportunities
- Buy and place trash barrels throughout Bucerias to help keep the streets clean
- Support a local volunteer recycling program
- Support bilingualism and cultural exchange through the Bucerias Bilingual Community Center (BBCC)
- Meet with local government officials and organizations to work cooperatively toward a bright future for Bucerias
- Provide opportunities for expats to meet, form support systems and obtain useful informational tools for living in Mexico
2011 marks a new beginning for Nayarit's Amigos de Bucerias organization and website. Come, grow with us. Here we can share what we learn of life in the Bahia de Banderas.
Amigos de Bucerias, AC, es una asociación civil con matrícula mexicana, integrada por los residentes de energía de Bucerias, Nayarit, México, se unen para hacer Bucerias un buen lugar para visitar, trabajar y vivir.
Nuestra misión:
"La asociación civil Amigos de Bucerías AC se dedica a la protección y mejora de la calidad de vida en Bucerías, en cooperación con todos los residentes, funcionarios electos y designados, líderes de negocios y visitantes".
Amigos miembros
Llevar a cabo una colecta de alimentos en curso en asociación con una iglesia local para los residentes locales que necesitan ayuda
Ayudar a los residentes locales para presionar a las situaciones a través de un "fondo de necesidades especiales"
Ayudar a la policía local y bomberos a través de compras de equipo y las oportunidades educativas
Comprar y colocar barriles de basura a lo largo de Bucerias para ayudar a mantener limpias las calles
Apoyar un programa voluntario de reciclaje local
Apoyo el bilingüismo y el intercambio cultural a través del Centro Comunitario Bilingüe de Bucerias (BBCC)
Reunirse con funcionarios gubernamentales y organizaciones locales para trabajar de forma cooperativa hacia un futuro brillante para Bucerias
Proporcionar oportunidades para que los expatriados que se encuentran, se forman los sistemas de apoyo y herramientas útiles para la obtención de información para los que viven en México
